Toledo
The band is new to the live shows as they were originally a recording band. The two would get together over winter breaks in college where they would record and release music but never performing them. Toledo is returning to Brooklyn to perform on their “home block” at Brooklyn Made in Brooklyn, NY.
The duo is excited to release their first Album with the label, Grand Jury from New York. They are excited to finally switch gears from a winter break meetup of making songs for fun to taking time to create musical themes so this is no longer a hobby but a full-time job.
Thank you to Daniel for the high energy and storytelling.
Below the gallery will be the interview with Toledo.
Toledo Interview:
Liam: Are there any bands you guys dream of collaborating with?
Jordan: Grizzly Bear was originally kind of why we became friends and probably has a lot to do with why we moved to Brooklyn. Grizzly Bear has the two singers so we look to that and think about how to play around with that and do it a little bit differently.
Liam: Any specific songs that come to mind that gave you inspiration?
Daniel: Gotta Have You by the Weepies
Jordan: Right now if I was on an Island and had to choose one song, the song that our friend put out that is so catchy is called Sunday by Sea Lemon
Liam: What venue would you guys love to play at?
Daniel: Anywhere if we have our own sound person. I honestly think this venue (Mahall’s in Ohio) is one of the coolest places we’ve ever played.
Jordan: And I would be stoked to come back here with our own sound person.
Liam: Is there anyone that you guys wanna shout out?
Jordan: Chris Plante and Parker Knisley.
Liam: What is the name of your new album?
Daniel: It’s called How it Ends and we are announcing it July, 19th and it’s our first and final album. Just kidding its not but we should say that. It releases September 23rd, aka the same day that Alex G’s album comes out.
